Join Us!! Rally at Pomona DMV – Sept. 25, 10 A. M.

Brown, Sign The Bill!
Wednesday, September 25 at 10:00am
Pomona DMV (1600 S. Garey Ave.) in Pomona, California
We urge Latino and Latina Roundtable members and friends to take an hour out of your day to support this rally!  Governor Brown has yet to sign AB-60 — and we need your help on Wednesday in sending a message to the Governor.  If you cannot join us, please let others know.
Gobernador Brown, ¡Firme!

COMMUNITY LEADERS URGE GOVERNOR BROWN TO SIGN AB 60 INTO LAW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

The AB 60 Coalition of the Inland Empire (AB60 Coalition) welcomes passage by the State Senate and Assembly, after 20 years of organizing and mobilizing to secure driver’s license for undocumented immigrants in the State of California, undocumented immigrants and immigrant rights organizations scored an important victory when the California legislators, at a last minute, had a “change of heart”, listen to their constituents and brought back the bill for a vote.

Although the license is not perfect because in the front it specifies that the license is for driving privilege “DP” instead of “DL” for driver’s license and on the back of the license will say “This card is not acceptable for official federal purposes: this license is issued only as a license to drive a motor vehicle” people who drive with fear of being stopped by the police when they are driving their children to school, work, or medical emergencies, the license albeit not perfect it is a welcome opportunity that would make a big change in their daily lives.

The AB 60 Coalition will continue to fight to remove the mark and the restrictions and when all Californians regardless of legal status can exercise equal rights under the law.

We urge Governor Brown to sign AB 60 into law as soon as possible.
