Vigil and City Council meeting for Resolution supporting 43 Students

You are invited to a  supportive vigil that will be held beginning at 5:30 PM in front of Pomona City Hall (505 S.  Garey Ave.) and entering city hall at about 6:45 PM in support of the attached resolution sponsored by Councilmembers John Nolte and Cristina Carrizosa.

The issue of the disappearance of the 43 students was a primary theme recently in the Cesar Chavez Park celebration and a number of Pomona community residents raised their personal stories and concerns for their own family members living in Mexico who are directly affected by the violation of human rights in the country.  This is significant in that we know of no other city council in the U. S. that has taken such a strong stand.  People are looking for a way to support this effort in the region – and here is an opportunity to help make history.  Please invite family, friends, and other organizations.
