“Today Mexico confronts a systemic crisis. Breaking the cycle of corruption and collusion will require reforms that the political class has been unwilling to implement, including tackling the illicit funding for political campaigns, independent oversight of the electoral process and prioritize spending to mitigate poverty.
A more urgent demand is the creation of an “independent citizens audit” to investigate the case of Ayotzinapa and other disappearances and massacres that have resulted from the failed war on drugs.”
