Big victory past midnight as San Dimas city council voted 3-2 against a resolution presented by Councilmember Ryan Vienna to oppose SB-54. A testament to the work of a community-based coalition (that included the Latino and Latina Roundtable, LCLAA, IYC, NAACP, and others) that organized and prepared speakers, wrote an alternative resolution, carried out legal research, mobilized a core of San Dimas residents, gathered petitions, held meetings with the mayor, gathered support from dozens of organizations, and handled the verbal attacks of dozens of right wing militants with discipline and unity.
