You are invited to a get-together the day before, Friday, April 18 (from 2:30 – 5 PM) at Cesar Chavez Park (2720 Barjud Ave.) in Pomona to make flags, posters, and banners for the Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta March the next day. At this get-together, we will remember the lives of Pablo “Xhompo” Lopez and Blanca Mariscal who, until they passed to the spirit world, gave of their time to organize the annual march and celebration. Like we will do, they were there on the Friday before the march – making flags and posters – with Pablo helping to lead chants the next day and Blanca leading the making of food the next day with parents (with all proceeds going for scholarships). There are two trees with rocks next to them – remembering their lives. The LRT will provide pizzas, wings, garlic bread, and water. Please bring a snack, dessert or fruit to share. You are welcome to invite others.
