Annual Cesar Chavez Breakfast

I do hope that you are doing well.  I am writing to request your support of our Latino and Latina Roundtable twenty-second Annual Cesar Chavez breakfast which will take place on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 8 am at the Sheraton Fairplex Events and Conference Center in Pomona.

We ask for your support in being a sponsor of this momentous event that helps to sustain our organization and celebrates exemplary leaders, such as Kent Wong (posthumously) and David Huerta,  who have used their lives in the interests of our communities and students who have connected their studies with community engagement.

This year, as part of celebrating our resilience in the face of adversity, we will be honoring: (posthumously)  Kent Wong, former Director of the UCLA Labor Center and a lifelong social justice activist; David Huerta, President of the Service Employees International Union California and long-time labor leader and fighter for immigrant justice; Chara Nicole Swodak, Community Advocate and Founding President of the African American Alliance; and LRT Community Star award recipient David Estrada (LRT Board Member and long-time union/ labor/community leader); and local students who will be receiving Social Justice Scholarship awards.
This year we urge your support for our efforts in developing a staff, moving to a new office, increasing our membership, and continuing our annual Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta Pilgrimage march; cultural Dia de Muertos; education advocacy efforts with the statewide College for All Coalition; and our ongoing immigrant, education, and community development/quality of life efforts.
In the spirit of building community, honoring exemplary leaders, celebrating students with scholarships for their education, and advancing the long-term sustainability of our organization, we invite you to join us on March 27th, 2026, as a purchaser of tickets or as a sponsor.
