This year’s Latino and Latina Roundtable twenty-second Legacy breakfast will take place on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 8 am at the Sheraton Fairplex Events and Conference Center in Pomona.
This year, as part of celebrating our resilience in the face of adversity, we are honored that State Senator Maria Elena Durazo will be making the opening prayer and set the tone for our breakfast on the issues that we are facing and the road ahead – and we will be honoring: (posthumously) Kent Wong, former Director of the UCLA Labor Center and a lifelong social justice activist; David Huerta, President of the Service Employees International Union California and long-time labor leader and fighter for immigrant justice; Chara Nicole Swodak, Community Advocate and Founding President of the African American Alliance; and LRT Community Star award recipient David Estrada (LRT Board Member and long-time union/ labor/community leader); and local students who will be receiving Social Justice Scholarship awards.
This year we are requesting support for our efforts in developing a staff, moving to a new office, increasing our membership, and continuing our annual Pilgrimage march; cultural Dia de Muertos; education advocacy efforts with the statewide College for All Coalition; and our ongoing immigrant, education, and community development/quality of life efforts.
In the spirit of building community, honoring exemplary leaders, celebrating students with scholarships for their education, and advancing the long-term sustainability of our organization, we invite our community to join us on March 27th, 2026, as a purchaser of tickets or as a sponsor. Our mailing address is: 545 West Second Street, Pomona, CA 91766. If there are any questions, or additional information to make a decision about sponsorship please do not hesitate to contact our director Lina Mira at 909-4806267 (tel:909-4806267) or at: mailto:Lmira@latinolatinaroundtable.org
