There will be a national commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of the Greensboro Massacre in Greensboro, North Carolina November 1-3, 2019. Old friends from across the country will converge for a weekend of events that will include a graveside ceremony, a reading of the award-winning playwright Emily Mann’s “Greensboro: A Requiem,” a legal panel on current civil rights issues in the South, and a service at the Beloved Community Center,led by Reverend Nelson and Joyce Johnson. A Los Angeles delegation will be traveling to take part in the national commemoration.
On Sunday, November 17, there will be a Los Angeles commemoration at 12 noon at the UCLA Labor Center, 675 S Park View St, Los Angeles, CA 90057. A number of guests from out-of-town are expected.
