Laud the research of Professor Juan De Lara who, not only draws insights on the contributions of Latino labor and the impact of the wage and wealth gap – but carries out research on a place that he knows very well from growing up there, the Coachella Valley.

In the past movement days – a number of us were moved by the perspective that we should use our knowledge and skills to return to our communities and take up the issues that have historically affected their stratification. Juan’s research on “wages, work, and wealth” is a real contribution to this perspective and practice.
