Dear Professor Calderón,
On Wednesday, October 15, at 7:00 pm, the Pomona Economic Opportunity Center is collaborating with Deacon Mario López and the Department of Motor Vehicles to put on a forum on AB 60 for Spanish-speaking parishioners and community members.
Topics to be covered include:
- the appointment and application processes
- document requirements to show identity and California residency
- an overview of the exams
As usual, we will also provide some background on the struggle against driver’s license discrimination and know-your-rights information.
The forum has a facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/1476268449315883/
The church is located at 724 E Bonita Ave, San Dimas, California 91773.
I am attaching a flyer.
In concert with these large-scale forums, the PEOC is also holding smaller study sessions (for a maximum of 20 people) for more intensive review of the written exam. We have held two such “círculos de estudio” at the PEOC, and are holding two more this week for community groups in Pomona this week. This is a service we would like to offer other groups in Pomona and the area. If you know of any barrios, apartment buildings, trailer parks, parent groups, soccer clubs, etc. that might benefit from such a study circle, please don’t hesitate to put us in contact.
Thank You Kindly,
Benjamin
