1. Board Elections results -We thank everyone who participated in the LRT Board at Large Election on November 18th. Join me in congratulating the 7 board at large members – David Estrada, Maria Galvan, John Nolte, Karina Leon, Oscar Segovia, Josh Swodeck, and Mike Suarez. The term is for 2 years.
2. New Office- Room 5 @ the Village. LRT moved right next door and we continue to be part of the Solidarity Center with NAACP, Pomona Valley Chapter. We are planning for an Open House celebration in early January 2024.
2. Meet Heidi Carranza, Community Organizer for the Pomona’s Job Project (PJP) and the newest member of the Latino and Latina Roundtable team. She has experience in non-profit organizations and workforce development. Heidi was a High School Vocational Educator for the Pomona Unified School District for over 17 years and is excited for this new role. PJP will locate, train, place, and support at least 30-50 low income workers to provide local workers better employment opportunities in emerging sectors. Heidi holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and is a proud mom of two boys. Heidi loves to read mystery books, long street and trail runs, and being a soccer-mom.
3. Community Posada x El Puestecito on 12/13/2023 @6:00 pm at Lopez Urban Farm. Join us and other local organizations in celebrating the holiday season. Everyone is welcome. This is our 3rd community posada celebration.
