Renowned local artist Paul Botello mentioned on Quiz Show Jeopardy. Paul is so humble that he seldom mentions how well-known he is.. As a community-based artist from East L. A. for over 37 years, he is known for the 50 murals he has painted – including some at Pitzer College when he was a visiting professor. His murals, both in Los Angeles and abroad, focus on social issues and social change in our communities. After earning his BA and MFA at UCLA, he traveled to Berlin, Germany in 1994 where he collaborated on a giant mural titled “Global Chessboard.”
Most recently, Paul Botello was honored, alongside LA Mayor Karen Bass and others, with the Angel Award from the East Los Angeles Community Youth Center in recognition of his more than 30 years of community service. Adelante Paul!
