A good memory today of our good friend and movement organizer Magdaleno Rose-Avila on one of those visits on his way to support immigrant families,deported veterans, DACA families, and refugees on the border in Tijuana.
Twelve years ago, the caption read: A big abrazo with our good friend Magdaleno Rose-Avila who we had not seen for awhile. Len, as I called him, led the lettuce farm worker strike in Colorado in the early ’70’s and, like many of us today who are still organizing, he is still energetically and spiritually taking on those steep hills toward equality and social justice.
