Thank you to Bowdie Hernandez for posting this memory of the Al Frente de Lucha newspaper that we used to publish out of the north side center in Greeley, Colorado. This issue depicts the annual September 16 marches that were part of an annual tradition of marches on both September 16 and Cinco de Mayo in the ‘70’s and early ‘80s. It is important to bring out the history of the origins of Al Frente de Lucha and the Rodarte Center. There is a tendency to bypass the grass-roots movements (in this time when the conservative right wing is seeking to wipe out that history) and the individuals that made the Al Frente Center and the Rodarte Center in the north side barrio a reality. There are at least half a dozen Al Frente newspapers that help to bring out that history – and thank you for sharing this one
