SUMMIT PLANNING MEETING ON JANUARY 14–PLEASE ATTEND & INVITE OTHERS

MEETING REMINDER!!!!!!!!

Saturday, January 14, 2017—9AM to 1PM

Sproul 1102—Use Parking Lot 6

University of California, Riverside

The “Mexican@ & Latin@ Response to Trump’s Agenda Summit” planning meeting is scheduled for this Saturday, January 14, from 9 AM to 1 PM.

The planning session’s agenda will cover: (1) Election of Summit Co-Chairs; (2) Consensus on Summit location; (3) Approval of keynote and panel speakers; (4) Finance generation; and (5) Maximizing outreach and Summit attendee confirmation efforts. Taskforces will be presenting their reports.

It is so important that you attend. We must maximize the Summit’s development and organizing tasks in order to have a truly effective Summit agenda designed to counter Trump’s anti Mexican@/Latin@ presidency. With the Inauguration of Trump on January 20, 2017, the next four years are going to be nightmarish for our people. The clock is ticking! We have no time to loose! Every day that we are unorganized is another day that Trump can torment our communities.

Hello friends,

Please join us at the upcoming County board meeting on Tuesday, January 10th at 10 am to support Supervisor Solis’ continued work on Immigrants’ rights and protections and to call on the County to establish the Office of Immigration Affairs

At the meeting, the Sheriff and the Superintendent of the Los Angeles County Office of Education will report back on how they have responded to the directives in Supervisor Solis’ Immigration Protection Motion (http://hildalsolis.org/supervisors-solis-and-kuehl-call-for-la-county-strategy-to-protect-immigrant-communities/).

We need your voice!

And, the other supervisors and County leaders need to hear how the Immigration Protection Motion and an Office of Immigration Affairs would help our community.

Please let me know if you are able to attend and if you can bring others.

Take care and Happy New Year!
