Invitation to LRT Anchor Mission Committee Toward New Models of Economic Development

Dear Interested Members of the Latino & Latina Roundtable and friends:

Please see the attached flyer and join our Anchor Mission Committee, which will have its first meeting this Saturday, June 12 at 9 AM (going no later than 10:30) via Zoom here: bit.ly/LRTAnchorZoom, Password: Anchor.
The Committee will meet every other Saturday thru the summer.
This Committee is part of the LRT’s commitment to find a way forward toward a New Economy–more just, more equitable, putting people over profit.
Anchor Institutions are large nonprofits that raise and spend significant sums of money and are “anchored” to the local community in that their success and health is inextricably tied up with the success and health of local people and places. (Typical examples are “eds and meds,” i.e., universities and hospitals.) We will work to implement models that unlock the economic power of such institutions in our region to create jobs for, and investment in, Pomona’s lowest income residents and neighborhoods.
To get an idea of where we are going, see:
Hope to see you there. ¡Adelante!
