Magdaleno Rose-Avila

Magdaleno Rose-Avila is in our hearts and minds. An example to me back in the early ‘70’s when he was leading a lettuce strike of farmworkers in Center, Colorado – organizing moments that were part of deciding how I would use the rest of my life. After that – we walked the same roads in fighting for justice in every step of the way – to the very present! Leno has meant so much for so many in how he has always used his life for others. Sending the fullest of our spirit and energy and caring his way.

Earlier today Magdaleno Leno Rose-Avila recorded this message:
“I Don’t Have Room for Hate.”
Transcript:
Kim: Good afternoon, my name is Kimbo, I’m Papa Leno’s son. Everybody knows Magdaleno Rose-Avila here. Unfortunately, he took a bad turn here in the last couple of weeks but he’s making a come back here and he wanted to share some messages here with you folks.
Leno: Let me just say it’s been good to have my family and friends around me and close to me. We have come to the decision to explore a tumor that I have in my body in the next couple of days if everything goes right. It’s possible when they take the biopsy it explodes and spreads cancer stage four all over my body so I might not have a chance to come back and say everything I want to say there are a couple of things I want to say that are important. I think the biopsy is one of the biggest risks I’ve taken in my life. More importantly every time you open up your hearts and minds to love you take a risk. And that’s what kept me, you and a lot of us working on the behalf of human rights. Cause we know when we open up our hearts we can protect everyone. We can protect DEI, LGBTQ, protect people who look like me, people that don’t look like me, but we all strive to have a better life. So there are a lot of things I want to say but its most important that you understand that we all have a responsibility to hug some body, love some body, and to protect the rights of everybody including those who hate us cause we have people who hate us but we don’t hate them. And we are going to teach them about love. And we are going to change their hearts, minds so we have a number of people that we’ve asked to give us comments so that we can put them on this webinar or whatever its going to be. But per chance if we didn’t get a chance to reach out to you properly please contact Aviva, Aviva my daughter she will get you included because the message I have is not for you, not for me, but it’s a message we must give to each other and people from all over this country. Just think if we had more love we’d have less wars, less hate, and we’d have more fun. People must understand that love lets you have fun lets you celebrate lets you enjoy everybody. And we are all better than the worst thing we’ve ever done. Yep even me, I’ve done some badies, but I’m trying to make a come back. So once we’ve done exploration of that tumor we’re going to have two options, two you can pray for me and the rest of the world or you can face me and get off your tail ends and do some more work. We have a lot more to do, I’m happy, I’m not hating anybody. I love, sometimes people just ask me, don’t you just hate him, I say I don’t have room to hate. I hate what they do but I don’t hate them. I do love them. Cause we can change the world and that love is stronger than hate. So I want you to join us in this great movement compassion learn to give, forgive, and be forgiven. So en esponol le smando un abrazo un beso para todos. I send you love and a big hug for everybody. Keep loving and protecting our world. I love you all!
