Appreciating meeting up with one of my former Pitzer College Sociology students at the PolicyLink conference. We remember when he used poetry and spoken word in one of my classes as part of connecting the readings to social change practice – and how this use of a “poetic voice” has resulted in his now being known nationally for his spoken-word presentations, films, and documentaries.
