Our good friend and scholar Emeritus Professor Professor at Pomona College Miguel Tinker-Salas alongside Alejandro Velasco, associate history professor at New York University – on Democracy Now! – discussing the attack on Venezuela. The professors react to President Trump’s comments on the presence of oil in the region and claims that Venezuela had “stolen” oil from U.S. companies. “There was no taking of ‘American property or American oil’ — it was Venezuelan oil,” says Tinker Salas. “It belonged to Venezuela.”

Solidarity With Venezuela

Supporting the sending of a message this morning by a group of residents in San Dimas to hundreds of cars passing by that what the attacks are really all about in Venezuela is putting control of the oil there in the capital pockets of U S oil companies – pulling a coup with regime change – and an authoritarian Trump administration that does not care about violating international law and implementing an act of war against a sovereign nation without any congressional approval.
