Do They Have No Heart?
“Tell the President—we are here to work, to care for our families, to give. Do they have no heart? What if this happened to your own family?”
A worker shared these words after witnessing the tragic death of a fellow worker who lost his life while fleeing ICE. This is the reality for so many of our beloved workers.
Join us tomorrow, August 15th at 5:30 PM for a vigil to honor his life.
Stand with us. Mourn with us. Fight with us.
Invitation to Gathering
You are invited to a gathering, as part of the Latino and Latina Roundtable efforts to celebrate and sustain Cesar Chavez Park (2720 Barjud avenue in Pomona) as a “spiritual” place, to upkeep the park, and to restore the murals there on Saturday, August 23 from 10 am to 1 PM. The day’s gathering includes: Artist Paul Botello working with eight volunteers in restoring the murals; continuing to clean and upkeep the park; drumming circle (please bring your drums) and an indigenous ceremony (led by Carla Munoz and Tony Cerda); and potluck with sharing of food.
