Services for Father Patricio Guillen
Services today at Queen of Angels Church in Riverside for Father Patricio Guillen called “el cura del pueblo” from the pulpit for his life of giving, organizing, and sacrificing for our communities. With Danny Morales and Armando Navarro after and reminiscing on the many marches, actions, picket lines, strikes, conferences, and meetings that we were part of with Father Guillen over the years. There will be one more community-based celebration,ceremony, and “concierto del pueblo” — remembering the life and contributions of Father Guillen this next Friday, February 1 from 6:30-9 pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Hope (5250 Central Ave.) in Riverside. Affordability In Education
Yale University is expanding its financial-aid program for undergraduates, the university announced Tuesday, offering free tuition to families with incomes below $200,000, starting in fall 2026. The university says it will also cover all costs of attendance — including housing, meal plans and travel costs — for families with “typical assets” and incomes below $100,000. Other elite universities, including the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University, offer similar assistance. The announcement comes as pressure builds on universities to address affordability, with millions struggling under student debt.

A poll from The New York Times and Siena University, showed that Just 36 percent of voters said they approved of the way ICE was handling its job …. while 63 percent disapproved — including 70 percent of independent.
