The meeting will include a summary of the Cesar Chavez Breakfast, the Cesar Chavez Pilgrimage, updates on the stop vehicle impoundments campaign, follow-up on driver’s license implementation, plans for membership socials, committee reports, and implementation of plans from the retreat. If you have friends that are interested in joining the Latino and Latina Roundtable, this is the opportunity to invite them.

A Big Step Forward: La Puente City Council Changes Its Checkpoint Rules
La Puente City Council has taken a big step in deciding that the driver’s license status will no longer be checked at checkpoints. The new policy will last until 2015 when a state law allowing undocumented immigrants to obtain a driver’s license will go into effect. The Pomona City Council can move in this direction on Monday evening by putting a halt to unjust vehicle impoundments.
